PLACES TO RIDE - NEVADA |
|
This page was developed to to
inform you of different places to ride. We've been riding quads since the early
90's, so our focus is
on those riding areas that allow quads. We included as much info as possible for
dirt bikes, but you may want to contact the various facilities for the
latest track info. We've tried to give as much info as we could for
each place that we've been to and we hope you'll find it beneficial when inquiring
about a place to visit. If you're thinking of visiting one of these place and have some questions like travel
time, places to stay and eat etc, send us an
email and we'll try our best to help you
out. Also, if you know of a great place to ride
quads, send us an
email
with the location, nearest larger city, type of riding, and a website or
contact information for the location and we'll gladly add it to our site. So load up the toys
and have fun!
Scroll down to check out
various riding areas. Feel free to come over and say "HI" if you should see us at your track or in the dunes. Stay young, have fun, play!
With a 600 foot face, how could you deny your banshee the bragging rights around camp? Sand Mountain is located 25 miles east of Fallon (100 miles east of Reno) on Highway 50 and offers 4800 acres of sand to roost. The mountain is 2 miles long and over 1/2 a mile wide, and it's a razorback... just to make things a little more exciting. The dirt road entrance is on the north side of highway 50 and goes about 1½ miles to the main camping area where there are also a couple of out-houses. According to the BLM, the actual camping area available is 160 acres and holiday weekends bring any where from 1500-5000 people. The elevation for Sand Mountain is 4100 feet, so prepare to re-jet. We just made our 1st trip to Sand Mountain and we'll being adding pictures soon. This place is impressive!! Long, incredibly long, and steep dunes to climb. Plus great faces with downhill slopes that make for some awesome jumps. The lower area is great for riders of all levels and it's well worth the trip. Weekly Pass (Sept '07) is $40 and the Annual Pass is $90. Below are pictures from our trip Labor Day weekend, 2007.
Located in Mesquite, near the Nevada - Utah border, it looks like an awesome track. We just found this track while searching out the WORCS schedule. Mesquite held round 1 in January 2004 and is holding round 2 in February 2008. The track has been re-done to make it safer and more fun. Lots of tables!!! We contacted Jim Provencher, head of the facility, and he informed us that quads are welcome on both practice and race days. We intend to make a trip up there soon to check it out and give the full details.
